According to a survey done recently, working remotely or away from the office premises have resulted in more productivity of the employees. A large number of employees working in companies like Microsoft, WIPRO careers, stated that they are able to work more productively and efficiently when working from outside office. Many offices in India and abroad have this flexibility in work arrangements because of which there is no space for monotonous feeling. 

The change in the work space and the work area acts a big booster and motivate employees for better performance. Working from home acts a great relaxation to employees and saves their traveling time and energy. Getting more time to relax and doing away with the tiredness of traveling, working from home has turned out to be really profitable option for many companies. 

But, a large number of companies do not support this practice and expect their employees to work in the office premises only. Giving space to employees and letting them feel free is important to yield best benefits from their skills. This need to be understood by the companies and many organizations are required to make changes in their working environments and policies. In case of jobs for freshers, it is OK for their starting years as they are new to working space and yet to learn the office norms and techniques. But, for the experienced employees, working from home should be given as a choice. Also, the distance from work to home has increased a lot due to shifting of office space to NCR regions of bigger cities. In such cases, options for working away from office or flexible timings act as an asset not only for the employee but for the employer as well.

My Journey from Biotechnology Labs to Content Writing

I collected my postgraduate degree in biotechnology from my institute and landed Delhi with a dream in my eyes to grab a pharma job that can match my profile and shape up my career. But to my disappointment and my bad luck, I could not get a job even after months of job search. During my job search, I met many candidates who were post graduates in pharmacy (M.Pharma), from reputed universities, but they also found it very difficult to get the suitable Pharma jobs with the pharma companies. It is really tough to make out what the pharma companies actually want.

So after spending lot of time over internet and talking to those fellow jobseekers, I had a realization that having a degree is not enough, the companies need experience for the pharma jobs, which I was not having in my hand. To find the best pharma jobs, you must have an M.tech or a PhD degree in the relevant subject. But actually I had not that patience to study further and wait for years for my PhD to complete and then seek a job, so I decided that let the destiny decide my career, and eventually I got placed into writing and editing jobs.

It was sheer luck and what else can I say, the job portals which have come out as the best job providing solutions. I uploaded my resume on the job portals of India such as Naukri.com, Monsterindia.com, Timesjobs.com and then got the lucky call from my first company.

But, looking for the job and then appearing for the interview are two very different areas of concern.

• First of all dress in a decent manner. Your attire is the first impression on the basis of which the employer judges your personality.

• You should always give your best shot when appearing for the interview. An eye contact with the interviewer is a must. This shows your confidence.


• Do not fumble in between the interview. Never use a language in which you are uncomfortable. It’s not mandatory to always speak in English; you must only use the language you can speak fluently. Fumbling in between the interview gives a negative impression on the interviewer.

• You should try and not touch a topic, you are not sure of. Talking about irrelevant things will always annoy the interviewer.


• Be patient and answer thoughtfully.

If the HR person says that he will get back to you in some time then, in most of the cases it means that you are rejected. Almost every big employer extends the offer letter same day of the interview these days to save traveling time and to have quick joining of the candidate. Therefore, you should always act smartly and ask directly to the company if you are selected or not rather than wasting your time. Also, if the company asks time then you should immediately apply for some other openings.
