Types of Nursing Jobs in India


All over the world, healthcare jobs are believed to be the noblest profession as they correct the ailments and give new life to the patients. Nurses and doctors keep a very important place in the health care industry. The jobs in nursing are the hot favorite these days and are believed to be the most sought-after career all over the world. Earlier, only females used to take up the Nursing jobs, but with the changing times, men have also been keen to work as nurses, but the number is quite low.

The Nursing jobs have been quite popular for some time as there are a number of options that come with these positions. The career in nursing offers so many specializations as per the interest and the knowledge of the candidate. The skills are taught by the institute where they get trained, but it is the candidate who has to decide that which types of skill set is the perfect according to his/her capabilities.

Developing countries like India have open demands for jobs in nursing. There has been availability of so many nursing jobs that fuels the desire of a number of candidates. The most sought positions are that of:

1. The Oncology Nurses: Oncology nurses are responsible for caring for patients suffering from cancer. They must be able to understand the impact of treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy in a patient suffering from cancer.
2. Gerontology Nurses: These nurses are responsible for caring for the elderly.
3. Psychiatry Nurses: These are the mental health nurses deal with patients suffering from mental disorders or mental illness.
4. Neonatal Nurses: It is the duty of neonatal nurses to care for newborn babies suffering from physical disabilities or illnesses that require much attention and care.
5. Acute Care Nurses: Nurses look after patients suffering from heart attacks, strokes, and so on.
